BSHS Auditorium Revitalization
On February 22, 2025, a dedication concert was held to honor Beverly "Bev" Sutherland, marking the grand unveiling of the newly renovated Sutherland Hall for Performing Arts.
This event celebrated the future of performing arts at Bloomingdale, showcased the revitalized hall, and paid tribute to the enduring legacy of Bev Sutherland. We extend our sincere gratitude to all who joined us for this special occasion.
Ms. Sutherland was a teacher of music education in Hillsborough County for almost 40 years. She made Bloomingdale her home, serving for 20 of those years in various roles within the music department; including choir director, assistant band director, orchestra teacher and Crimson Guard flag corps assistant.
In 2023, the Hillsborough County School Board unanimously approved the naming of Bloomingdale Senior High School’s auditorium to the ‘Sutherland Hall for Performing Arts' in her honor. This renaming came alongside various improvements and renovations to the auditorium. These refreshments are still underway, and couldn't be possible without support from the district as well as our valued donors.​
​As Bev would say, there is always room for more. It's not too late to support Sutherland Hall and leave your own mark.
The tax-deductible donations levels are as follows:
Maestro's Circle ............ $10,000 and up
Artist's Circle ................ $1,000 - $9,999
Sustainers ................................ $100 - $999
Patrons ............................................. $26 - $99
Friends .............................................. Up to $25
With your donation of $100.00 or more, you/your families name will be engraved on a name plate and placed on a plaque next to Bev's Portrait at Sutherland Hall.
